Fabulous views in Hatta

Hatta is a town in the United Arab Emirates located in the Hajar mountains. It is an opportunity for people living in busy cities to relax and enjoy the natural beauty. It is good picnic spot to go on weekends. It is an exclave of Dubai and is located about an hour from Dubai city. It is separated  from the main part of the emirates by territory belonging  to Sharjah  and Oman. A journey of around   1.5 hour  by a car from Dubai and the Sharjah - Kalba route  is typically  fastest. From the Abudhabi you are looking  at a 2.5 hour road trip. But it is not located with the cities main boundaries . In winter season , Hatta is the  good spot for hiking, biking, kayaking, and adventure. While in the summer season , it is worth visit for it's  cooler climate. Go in the morning since there are so many activities in Hatta. The Hajar mountain are range of 700 km across the masandam peninsula to the east coast of oman. Hajar mountains formed by the black sandstones.

1.Hatta Dam.

When you go on a trip to Dubai you should definitely visit hatta dam. There is such a beautiful view. Dam is surrounded by mountains. The dam is formed by the barrier is an elegant view with Turquoise waters. It is also a famous picnic spot and kayaking point. Enjoy being on the water  with kayaking paddal or donut boats. Kayaking is available for the single or double ride. Paddal boats accommodate 3 adults and 1 kid and the donut boat accommodate 4 adults and 2 kids. Offering rental services for kayaking , paddal boats and more. Hatta dam is well worth 1.5 hour do drive  from the Dubai city. There is lot of parking , horse riding and food trucks on arrival. The dam is  20 meter deep and not allowed to swim. Hatta Dam was built in 1990s to supply the area with electricity and water. Hatta Kayak is a popular tourist destination and a favourite spot for kayaking in UAE. 


Location: Hatta Lake is right at the foothills of Hatta Dam, located near Hatta Wadi Hub and just about 90 minutes away from Dubai. 

2.Hatta Dates Farm.

Another important attraction  in hatta  is the dates farm. This dates farm is very old. The farm  is located on the way to trekking . Beautiful photos can be taken here. Don't forget to enter these dates farm.



3.Hatta Heritage Village.

The hatta heritage village is famous for many tourists. This is reconstructed  antique village. Mud , Reed and stone  building is where it is reconstructed the mountain village in 2001. There is also a collection of old photo graphs, represents traditional life in hatta and a museum showcased old house hold tools and weapons. There are a few shops and restaurants. Hatta heritage village give chance  to see the hajar mountains and UAE  before the economic oil  boom of the 1960's. You can also pick up handicrafts and heritage items as a memento. Cultural  events that  take place during ocassion  like UAE national day and don't forget  near farms  that houses the Falaj , that is old water channels that were used an irrigation system and the Al Sharia palm farms. Hatta heritage village is considered the oldest village in UAE.





Location: The Heritage Village is located in Beit Al Wali in Sufayri, Hatta, Dubai. 

Timings: 7.30 am to 8.30 pm on weekdays
2.30 pm to 8.30 pm on Friday and Saturday are off

4.Hatta hill park

Hatta hill park is a favourite location for  families. It is full filled with greenery. Hatta hill park also has a children's  playing range, walking and jogging tracks, a swimming pool, and benches for BBQ and fed up with the city play ground. A tower at the highest point of the mountain , which you can climb up the tower and found  outstanding views.



Location: The park is located right on Hatta Hill next to the hospital in Hatta, Dubai. 

Timing: Sundays to Thursdays: 8 am to 11 pm. Fridays and Saturdays: 8 am to 12 am

5.Hatta Fort And Jumma Mosque.

Finally the jumma mosque which was built in 1780.  It is also known to the oldest building in hatta. The mosque is a beautiful sight against the rocky hills, and the palm trees. The hatta  fort is a popular  architectual monument. That served as a defensive structure and residence , and check out the 11 meter high watch tower. That overlooks  hatta. It includes the traditional water system used from the past.


6.Hatta Rock Pools.

Another tourist destination in hatta are rock pools. It is located in the boarder of oman.  The rock pool 's are natural water springs and waterfalls. The rock pools become  an oasis  of rocky crevices and water pools. In the early morning  or evening when the sun  is not , at its most powerful misty light casts over the peaks.  Visitors can Wade  through the crystal clear water. Lot of beautiful photos can be  taken from here.



7.Hatta Wadi Hub.



Hatta wadi hub is another tourist destination of Hatta. Here we can participate in various sports related Activities. It is also known as activity centre, with something to suit every adventure. Rental services of mountain bike and tackling 52 km of trails, colour coded according to difficulty , hike hatta's rolling peaks at you own pace. Visitors  can also book alternative  thrills such as Archery , or try zorbing  etc...near by where you will roll  down hill inside a giant transparent plastic ball. Hatta wadi hub will be one of the reason for you return to  hatta again and again. You can stay over one of the various accommodations. Hatta wadi hub is currently closed for summer season. Hatta Wadi Hub is open everyday from 7 am to 7 pm.

How to Reach

The best way to get from Dubai to Hatta is by car. You can reach Hatta from Dubai by taking the Sharjah-Kalba Road (E102) via Emirates Road (E611). It takes approximately and hour-and-a-half to get to Hatta from the city.
