Enchanting Hill Station in Peermade


 Parunthumpara Hill Station.

Parunthumpara is a village in Idukki district in the state of Kerala. This small tourist destination is located in peermedu taluk. This is quite a rural area. It is a beautiful tourist destination between Peermedu and Thekkady. Many locals and foreign tourists visit this place in the highlands of peermedu taluk. Tourism in the region was booming when Ayyappa devotees flocked here to see Makara Jyothi. If you  look from the top of the hill , you can see a  beautiful view of the hills spread out on four sides. Occasionally there is a foggy view but the next breeze gives us a good view. The name parunthumpara is derived from the cliffs that look like a large falcon ready to fly. Nearby is another rock, the Tagore rock. Which bears a striking resemblance to the head of the great poet Rabindranath Tagore.

Fresh air and tranquility attract tourists to this place. Parunthumpara is 8 km from peermedu, 25 km from Thekkady and 3 km from National Highway 220. It is an important growing tourist destination. There are coca (gaps) in many parts of the mountain, so don't get too excited. It is possible to reach the top of parunthumpara without any difficulty. There is a 500 meters trekking from the parking area to Eagle Rock view point.

Parunthumpara offers a 360 degree  view as seen in the eyes of birds. The blad hills, lush green slopes, Cliffs and deep ravines, the wind that blows along the spring and the mist that gives way to the end of the view are a few experience that will never fade. No entry fee is required to enter the parunthpara. A valley covered with mist in the heat . The uniqueness of this place is that the wind blows without warning, making it doubtful whether it will fly away.





The real beauty of parunthumpara is in the mountains. The road to suicide point in parunthumpara is a popular tourist destination the pleasure of eating icecream while seeing the sights is another. When the snow melts, you can see the distant view of the Sabarimala forest from parunthumpara.
